"According to Adler, each individual must solve three major problems in life, all of which require a well developed social interest: (l) Occupational* Tasks. Through constructive work the person helps to advance society; (2) Societal* Tasks. This requires cooperation with fellow humans. (3) Love* and Marriage Tasks."11*
The first two of these fit this analysis, especially when combined with the future- and goal-orientation that Adler also emphasizes. In Adler's three major aspects of life, the personal, the professional, and the societal, Adams applied the self-determining outlook to the future that only an integrated and confident individual would dare.
